Frequently Asked Questions

Why Agile Academy?

Agile Academy’s live training program is different from typical online courses or 2-day certification workshops. Our 16 week program will engage you in live sessions with Agile industry experts, interactive assignments, and real-life simulations so you will feel confident that you have the mindset and skills needed to be a Scrum Master.

What are the daily responsibilities of a Scrum Master?

The daily responsibilities of a Scrum Master may vary depending on the project, but typically include facilitating Scrum meetings such as: sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint review and retrospective meetings, helping teams to identify and remove obstacles that prevent them from reaching their goals, coaching and mentoring team members, and tracking and reporting on sprint progress. They may also be responsible for creating and maintaining Scrum artifacts such as the product backlog and sprint backlog, and for monitoring and enforcing the use of Scrum and Agile principles throughout the project.

How many hours a week should I plan on committing to in order to be successful in this learning track?

You should expect to commit around 10-15 hours a week between live classes, online content, and fieldwork.

Do I need experience in tech or need to know how to code to be a successful Scrum Master?

Because the Scrum Master role is a people and leadership role, you do not need to know how to code or have extensive tech background. However, we do recommend going into this role only if you have led teams or have held leadership roles in your professional career.

What time are the live classes?

Our classes are generally weekday evenings in the CST time zone to accommodate individuals in all time zones across the United States.

What do I need to complete the live sessions?

You will need a laptop or desktop, Zoom, and reliable internet. Handheld devices such as phones or tablets are not suitable for the interactive nature of live sessions.
